RMOJ.com Adds Geo PDF/Shapefile Feature for Subscribers

The Rocky Mountain Oil Journal is pleased to announce expanded website functionality for subscribers to our online edition. Geo PDF/shapefiles provide gas and oil information as well as the use of an interactive map showing the current status of all wells within a state. Users can simply click on a well of interest, and information about that particular well appears. This is a great tool for accessing specific wells and for researching a large number of wells within a state, county, and/or section-township-range. In addition, shapefile information for wells shown on maps can be used with tools such as ESRI’s ArcGIS, IHS’s Petra, and Geographix Discovery.

The states included in the Geo PDF/shapefiles are: Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Wyoming, and Utah. Beginning on Dec. 1, 2008, a free Green River Basin sample will be available to all RMOJ.com subscribers. On Jan. 1, 2009, all eight states will become available.

To take advantage of the Geo PDF/shapefiles, you must be a subscriber to the Rocky Mountain Oil Journal web edition. Note, however, that the new functionality is not included in the online cost. This is a separate feature that users may choose in addition to their RMOJ.com subscription. Annual rates are available for Geo PDF, shapefile, or combination functionality; charges are per state, with package deals available (see the following rate schedule). Sign-up and payment for the service is available online only.

The Geo PDF/shapefiles will be updated every Friday to ensure subscribers are receiving the most up-to-date information available.
